ANNOUNCING A NEW ENTRY POINT TO THE 1 YEAR NEXT GENERATION INTERNSHIP: August 16, 2010 – August 10, 2011

YOUNG ADULTS
Are you willing to give away one year of your life to become a world-changer? Has that much really changed in the past year of your world? If not, why not do something about it? Next-Generation Internship is exactly what you and your friends need, but even if they don’t come along for the ride – this is YOUR TIME!

What is Next-Generation Internship? It’s not coasting at college. It’s not working at Wal-Mart. It’s not staying up until 4 AM playing the latest video game. It’s a fast-paced, no looking back, one-year journey packed full of spiritual intensity, real-life ministry stuff and total lifestyle immersion into changing the young adult culture of today. Think you’ve got the guts to take the leap?

ESPECIALLY FOR PASTORS
Church of the Harvest and Youth America has a God-given directive to build next-generation churches. We’re serious about this stuff! Next-Generation Internship is designed to stretch, develop and train young adults to be culturally relevant and spiritually equipped to reach this next generation. We will push them in ways you may have never even considered. Pastors everywhere – and I mean everywhere – are waking up to the fact that this high-risk generation is basically missing from their church. What’s going on?

==> 99% of churches are not reaching the 17-30 age group
==> 80% of churched high school students intend to leave the church upon graduation
==> 80% of 20-somethings are leaving the church each year

Two of the greatest needs of every local church are connecting with the next generation and creating a culture where people are actually bringing new people to church.

During this one-year program, interns will learn the ropes, push past their fears and reach people in ways they never thought possible. Send us one, two, or three of your young adults with potential, and we’ll return them to you ready to serve with passion.

THE BIG ROCKS
BIBLICAL & MINISTRY CLASSES

Every intern will be exposed to serious doses of Biblical knowledge, 21st century ministry methods and the Harvest leadership culture. Classes and dialogue settings are lead by Next-Generation Internship leaders and pastoral team members of Harvest and Youth America.

MULTIPLE STREAMS

Interns are strategically placed in various streams to further develop their giftings, talents and ministry skills. Not sure where you belong? We can help you see the light?

Ministry Stream

Adult, young adults, teens, kids, community outreach, social justice programs, global missions

Worship Music Stream

Worship leading, vocalists, musicians, songwriters, song charting

Creative & Media Stream

Live media, cameras, video editing, graphics, website, sound, lighting, staging, production

Event Management & Administration Stream

Administration, organization, camp management, project management, research, operations, computer programs

YOUTH AMERICA SUMMER CAMPS

Interns serve as the leadership team for the summer camps of 2010. You will be neck-deep in thousands of young people from across the nation.

MINISTRY RESUMÉ & LICENSE

After completing the one-year program, interns will have accumulated an active ministry resume and be ready to serve the local church. Harvest can then provide you with a License of Ministry with your sponsoring pastor’s endorsement.

THE DETAILS
Youth America Campus

Better than Survivor! Interns will be housed on the Youth America campus in loft-apartment-type living arrangements. Interns have access to our gym, junior-Olympic-sized swimming pool, kitchen facilities and more.

Local Job & Income Opportunities

Need some moolah? The internship schedule provides time for you to work for local employers (list available) to earn additional cash for living expenses.

Relationship with a Church of the Harvest Family

A little homesick? A personal relationship with a Harvest family provides each intern with a “home away from home” connection for occasional home-cooked meals and time away from the campus.

Mentorship & Ministry Opportunities

This is the good stuff! Every intern will be assigned staff mentors and have the opportunity to train in numerous areas of ministry involvement, including outreach and participation in weekly service opportunities on the various Harvest campuses.

Conferences & Special Events

Hear from some of the world’s top leaders. Interns have free access to all Church of the Harvest Conferences, Youth America Camps and numerous other special events.

Road Trips

Can anybody say “road trip”? Throughout the year there will be occasions for interns to travel with our music teams and pastors for various outreaches, events, conferences and more.

Global Mission Trips (optional)

You’re going global, baby! Interns will have the opportunity to travel on Harvest mission trips at a discounted rate. Past trips have included ministry in Rwanda, Uganda, Cambodia, Brazil and Mexico.

PRICING & PARTNERSHIP WITH YOUR LOCAL CHURCH
Your pastor/church may desire to sponsor up to half of the costs (That’s some serious money!) for your internship. We would be happy to discuss this potential with them. In return, we ask you to sign an agreement to go back to your home church upon completion to serve as a key volunteer for at least a year, bringing the knowledge and experience you have gained to help your church grow forward.

Next-Generation Internship costs $5,000 (Do the math – you might only have to come up with $2,500, if your pastor likes you.), which includes lodging, courses, textbooks, and various activities and events. Additional costs you will be responsible for include your food (minimal kitchen arrangements available), transportation (each student should bring their own), and health insurance.

Internships are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Enrollment is open now. If you are interested in visiting our campus prior to the start date, ask about campus tour dates when you contact us.
