Live Album Recording
Worship team meeting in the back offices… Going through song lists and last minute musical tweaks, applying just one more touch of grease to our hair… Checking batteries… Approving clothing… Minds racing through all the vocal parts… Musicians still memorizing songs and lead lines… Final decisions on kick pattern for a song… Then the time comes for us to gather and pray… These are the best moments we have together as a team. “I know we are all freaking out about getting our parts right, playing and singing excellently, hoping everything goes smoothly….Guys we have worked so hard on this recording. Put in countless hours… exhausted our creativity… Rehearsed any free moment we could… We have done all we can to make this album great…. But guys, the final step in preparation for this recording…is to let it all go. Put it in God’s hands. It’s in nothing that we do that will make this recording life changing for people. It’s all God. The final step is…to turn it over to God…forget playing perfectly…and just worship God…lets pray” And…that’s what we did. Walked on the stage to over 1000 people hungry for God. Ready to play their part to create this Live CD/DVD that will impact so many lives. The night was amazing. People absolutely sang at the top of their lungs. God was glorified. The life changing decisions people had made through the week of camp were resounding through their singing and shouting… As I was on the stage, the thought of how this live CD/DVD will impact so many peoples lives really began to overwhelm me. To see all of these people just exploding with praise and worship to God, as an overflow and response to how they have encountered God through that week…pretty amazing. We will be recording that experience all three weeks of Camp… I truly believe that the live CD/DVD we are creating this year will capture much more than just music and good songs…it will capture the movement…you will experience what God is doing in these amazing people that were a part of this recording… That’s why we have produced a DVD with it, they go hand in hand… We want the encounter we had and the passion we have to be translated to those who experience it through a CD and DVD called “Together”, recorded live at Youth America 2009.
